Green Juice

It has become an office joke to ask me if I watched any new documentaries over the weekend.

Recently I made a wise (an impulsive) purchase. Okay, so there is a bit of a back story. Being the foodie/ food policy nerd that I am, last week I logged onto my Netflix account and realized there was in fact one food documentary which I hadn’t viewed. I had not even finished watching Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead and had a brand new juicer en route to my apartment!

Now, I won’t give away the documentary ending because I want you to watch it and tell me what you think. The story got my attention about the benefits of juicing vegetables. The biggest advantage being, juicing helps your body absorb the nutrients from the vegetables. In Joe Cross’s case, this lifestyle change literally saved his life.

After using my juicer several times, I don’t regret my purchase. In fact, I love it! It has already proven beneficial for my health. Juicing is helping me to eat new vegetables that I had never previously thought to purchase. It is crazy to me because, I had thought I already ate and incorporated a lot of veggies in my diet. The juicer allows me to have a ton more veggies in one serving than I would normally consume. I can’t remember the last time I have eaten so much kale. I am having fun experimenting. It is also lovely to simply make fresh squeezed orange juice on my lazy Saturday mornings. 🙂

6 Kale Leaves

2 Organic Apples

3-5 Organic Carrots

1/4 Lemon

1 piece of ginger

Juice and enjoy!
